Dalewool Auckland Brass Sponsors

Dalewool Holdings Limited

The Band is very fortunate to have Dalewool Holdings Limited as its sponsor. Many supporters of the band however, know very little about our sponsor. The Dalewool Group comprises five trading companies all owned by Dalewool Holdings Limited. The Group was founded in 1951, by Peter McDermott (senior) [pictured] under the name Raymond Dale & Company Limited as an exporter of primary products, and in particular, wool. Today Dalewool Holdings Limited is one of New Zealand's largest independent primary produce marketers with an annual turnover in excess of $100 million.

Although Dalewool Holdings Limited is not a household name to many New Zealanders, it plays a significant role in the processing and export of New Zealand's primary produce. The five companies that make up Dalewool Holdings Limited are as follows:

Dalewool Holdings Limited's sponsorship is not limited to the Dalewool Auckland Brass Band. The Company also sponsors the Dalewool Auckland and District Pipe Band who are current New Zealand Champions.

The Band is very grateful to have Dalewool Holdings Limited as its sponsor. The Band particularly appreciates the level of support shown from senior management, many of whom are regularly seen at band events and concerts.

Besson Musical Instruments

It was with much delight in late 1998 that the Band entered into a special partnership with Besson Musical Instruments. As a result the Band performs exclusively with Besson brass instruments. There is no denying the pleasure of being able to perform with the world's best range of brass band instrumentation, and this has enabled the Band to improve the standard of its playing to even higher levels.

Besson Musical Instruments are also the exclusive provider of instruments to our Youth Band. They share the objective of giving young people the greatest possible encouragement by providing them with instruments that are worthy of their hard work and musical endeavours.

Should anyone wish to contact us regarding our practical experience of using the Besson Musical Instruments range, please email the band.
