Ian Ward

It is with sadness we mark the passing of Ian Ward. Much loved father of the bands secretary, Jennifer Carey and father-in-law of Murray Carey. Ian passed away after complications arising from the MS he endured for a number of years. Although usually a euphonium player of no mean ability, Ian played baritone for the band for a number of years. Ian was a great administrator and also served as secretary.

Derek Ward

Only 10 days after Ian’s passing, Jennifer’s brother, Derek lost his battle with cancer. Derek was an outstanding Eb Bass player and won the Junior Eb Bass championship twice while with the band. Derek’s banding was cut short too soon. We extend our deepest sympathies to Jennifer, Murray, Jan, and families on their sad loss.
